In his first Grand Prix at the Del Mar International II October 2009 he finished 4th.
Chesapeake's grandsire, Carthago represented the Dutch team with Jos Lansink aboard and finished 11th place at the Atlanta Games. Carthago is a son of Capitol I. Capitol I is prized for his exceptional jumping ability, enormous talent and his willingness to perform. He passes these traits on to his offspring.
Landgraf I proved his ability to pass on his show jumping genes. Landgraf I produced more than 130 stallions and is the only sire to have had four sons competing in the World Championships at the same time. Landgraf I is the sire of Freestyle (Lalique) who won the Aachen Grand Prix, Libero won the Dutch National title five times and the 1994 Volvo World Cup.
