Chesapeake, a 2001 son of Carvallo began his Grand Prix show jumping career in 2010. In 2012 Chesapeake will be competing with his new rider, Soehnke Theymann.
Chesapeake is a beautiful mover with a bold jump. He was imported from Germany as a three year old and received his final stallion approval with the American Holsteiner Horse Association in 2007 with a score of 48.
Chesapeake's grandsire, Carthago represented the Dutch team with Jos Lansink aboard and finished 11th place at the Atlanta Games. Carthago is a son of Capitol I. Capitol I is prized for his exceptional jumping ability, enormous talent and his willingness to perform. He passes these traits on to his offspring.
Landgraf I has proven his ability to pass on his show jumping genes to his offspring. Landgraf I has produced more than 130 stallions and is the only sire to have four sons competing in the World Championships at the same time. Landgraf I is the sire of Freestyle (Lalique) who won the Aachen Grand Prix, Libero won the Dutch National title five times and the 1994 Volvo World Cup.
At the 2011 AHHA Approvals at Wild Turkey Farm, Chesapeak's 2008 filly, WT Ayla was site Champion and was entered into the Main Mare Premium Select book with a 50 bonits. WT Zemi was entered into the Main Mare book with 46 bonits. His fillies of 2011 WT Domino and WT Daisha were both awarded premium foal status.
