More Than Luck is an exceptionally versatile and athletic stallion. He has proven himself in International Jumper competition including the $50,000 Budweiser International Derby, the richest Derby in the USA. He was the Top Dutch Horse in the West Coast Young Jumper Championships. He jumped all clear rounds and was third overall in the International Jumper Futurity as a 4-year-old. The same week that he jumped all clear rounds in the International Jumper Futurity, he won the Under Saddle at the International Hunter Futurity 4-year-old competition. After proving himself in the International Jumper ring he moved to the four foot Hunter ring with championships in both Working and Conformation Hunters winning Over Fences and Under Saddle.
More Than Luck has demonstrated that he has the power, scope and speed to win in the big Jumpers and the quality, style, movement and temperament to win in the big Hunters, and can pass it all on to his foals.
His quality, ability, conformation and temperament are the logical results of generations of exceptional bloodlines. He is sired by Best of Luck who has been acclaimed the best continuation of the legendary Lucky Boy xx. More Than Luck is out of Inetta by Beach Boy, out of a Ramiro granddaughter. The KWPN Dutch inspectors named her the Top Star Mare in North America as a 3-year-old and two years later she scored the highest IBOP score in North America.
Now that he is totally proven in both show rings, More Than Luck is beginning his breeding career. First foals are big, correct, attractive athletes with calm, brave, friendly temperaments.
More Like It was Champion 2-year-old colt at both the International Hunter Futurity West and the Sallie B. Wheeler/USEF National Hunter Breeding Championship West in 2008 and IHF Breeding Challenge 3 Year Old Champion Colt in 2009. In 2010 he was Champion IHF 4-Year-Old Working Hunter and Reserve Grand Champion 4 Year Old.
More Like It followed in his sire's hoofprints and proved his versatility, quality and talent with success in the International Jumper Futurity immediately after his Hunter Futurity success. At the Jumper Futurity he was Champion: Best Scope and Technique, Champion: Best Type and Movement and Reserve Champion Most Consistent and Rideable.
Lucky Number 7, by More Than Luck, was Sallie B. Wheeler/USEF National Hunter Breeding Champion Yearling Colt in 2010.
