Ironman's kids did him proud

Posted: Apr 2, 2008

This weekend we took 10 horses to a show, three of which were Ironman offspring on their first outing. One of the Ironman offspring was a coming three year old filly, India, who never batted an eye at anything and behaved like a veteran. She won a couple of classes, and received ribbons in every class she was in.

John Klink brought his coming four year old Ironman son, Iceman who had jumped 5 times prior to the show. Iceman jumped around courses like a pro, with lead changes! He received good ribbons, won a class and was Reserve Champion.

The third one, Indelible is destined for the jumper ring, but as she had jumped 1 time recently before the show, we opted to do Hunters. She showed us she easily could have done the Jumpers by jumping every fence a foot or two higher! She too never looked at a jump.

It was really a thrill because I saw these offspring as foals, saw them grow up, and now they are starting their show careers. I was amazed how all of them have their dads work ethic, and how easy they are to train, just like their sire. And just like their sire, all of them are naturals when it comes to jumping and lead changes.
