Posted: October 22, 2008

American Hanoverian Inspections July 19 once again proved to be an exciting weekend for everyone at Hilltop Farm. The temperature was in the high 90's, but spectators and participants alike all found the inspection worth the effort to attend.

Two stallions were presented for approval and the Hanoverian stallion Donarweiss GGF (De Niro - Hohenstein), owned by Greengate Farm and managed by Hilltop Farm, earned his stallion approval with judges comments including "loved his rideability" and "matched the market."

For the Non-Hanoverian Mare Inspections, Albina (Andros - Aladin), owned by Kimberly Brown and NF Amazing (Anhaltiner E - Fruehlingsball), owned by Marie Taylor Emrey, and Laureen 016 (Liostro - Rocadero), owned by EquieSport LLC, were all accepted into the main mare studbook with overall scores of 7 and the Thoroughbred mare Wild Sally, owned by Alexandra Garrity scored 7.16 and was entered into the studbook. High score went to Laurie Cameron's Uma Corwin CBF (Cor Noir - Ramiro's Bube) with a score of 7.5, to which the judges' commented "modern, athletic type we are looking for; nice length of leg; good movement."

The Hanoverian mare inspection included Ginger Cookie (Grand Cru-Dinar), owned by Alexandra Garrity, and Dhaphne (De Laurentis - Gold Luck), owned by Janet Rae, and Conturri (Contucci - Riverman) and Raja HTF (Royal Prince - Parabol), both owned by Hilltop Farm. All four of these mares were accepted into the Main Studbook. An additional mare was entered into the Studbook. Two of the mares scored high enough to be Elite Mare Candidates. Raja HTF scored a 7.66 with highlights of her walk, good legs, and beautiful type. Earning an overall score of '8' Conturri received the high score for the Hanoverian mares with judges' comments consisting of "very impressive type; very uphill; and beautiful head and neck."

Nine foals were presented for inspection sired by Fabriano, Comic Hilltop FRH, Escudo II, Tiamo Trocadero, Royal Prince, Rousseau, and three by Contucci. Chiquita, the Contucci - Cordoba filly owned by Hilltop, received the high score for fillies with general judge comments being "elastic, rhythmical, undeniable in her movement," and "beautiful neck and good legs." The high scoring colt was Ricochet, the Royal Prince - Riverman colt owned by Hilltop. Interestingly, this colt is out of Rivita, who is also the dam of Conturri who was the top scoring mare earlier in the day. Richochet earned comments such as "nothing less than exquisite" and "breathtaking mover." Congratulation to everyone!
